4.0 out of 5 stars Good Deal at $29, January 7, 2011

At the price I paid, about $29 including shipping, this was a good deal. After I bought it, Sam's had it for $26. However with the sales tax, it was just about a $1 less than what I paid. The person that filled the tank for me said it was a good tank. I bought it to be able to use the 20 lb. tank instead of the small canister propane tank on my Coleman grill, since the small ones did not last very long. The only negative thing I can say was that there where some small dents in the tank but I am assuming this occurred during shipping. I guess I could return it, but I didn't feel it was worth the hassle. Also, the tank came "pre-purged" so that it was ready to fill. The grill works even better now with the larger tank. If you use your grill a lot, this is the way to go. You can use it to refill, or use it to exchange for a full tank at the stores that have tank exchanges. To use the 20 lb. tank you will need the hose adapter that sells on Amazon for about $25 (Coleman), or most... Read more

Good sturdy tank. Comes empty, but vacuum purged, so it'll save you $5 when filling it for the first time at U-Haul.
The tank weights ~36 pounds when full (4.5 gal of propane).
The cost of refill is $21.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sure beats exchanging!, July 8, 2011

I ordered this for use with my outdoor burner. I didn't want to get locked into using an exchange service, like Blue Rhino, whose tanks generally can't be refilled. It's pretty much what you'd expect: a brand new, sturdy-looking propane cylinder. I took it to my local U-Haul and got it filled with a full 20 pounds of propane for less than an exchange costs -- and those are only filled to 16 pounds these days!
